Female-owned, 3-Time Emmy Nominated Agency Introduces Non-Profit to Educate and Develop The Next Generation of Film Makers and Storytellers
PITTSBURGH (March 7, 2022) —Pittsburgh based film and brand strategy agency, Flying Scooter Productions (FSP), celebrates their 5-year anniversary in a big way – by launching their 501(c)(3), “The Amelia Project.”
Throughout their 5-years of business, FSP has used their extensive background in branding and strategy to create meaningful content to elevate corporate and cultural narratives. The Scooters have worked with a wide range of global clients in manufacturing, law, health & wellness, and the arts but all clients have shared a common goal: impactful storytelling.
Co-founders Jennifer Schlieper and Courtney Gumpf created the award-winning, female- owned brand strategy and film studio, Flying Scooter Productions in March of 2017. At the time of inception, the business aimed to specialize in event planning and production. Shortly thereafter, Schlieper and Gumpf shifted their focus to utilize their talents in documentary filmmaking. “We’ve been fortunate to work with the best clients who understand the importance of vulnerability and transparency when it comes to storytelling,” said Schlieper and Gumpf. “We’re able to leverage that and create strong ROIs and brand recognition for our clients. Each client provides an essential viewpoint that we are able to capture and amplify.”
Their love of storytelling is what inspired The Scooters to create their own 501(c)(3). “The Amelia Project” was established for the education of students and post-grads seeking to gain hands-on experience within the film production space. “We felt there was a need within the industry to normalize practical production work outside of the classroom. This allows us to reach into communities all across the nation,” state Schlieper and Gumpf. The Project will provide students the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and build their knowledge of film development and brand strategy. The Project also allows the FSP team to use their gift of storytelling to create work that intersects social justice and youth-infused perspectives to audiences worldwide.
The Flying Scooter Team has continued to grow and evolve, but their commitment to hard work, collaboration and excellence has not changed. Flying Scooter Productions is a 3-Time Emmy nominee, 2021 Webby Awards finalist, 2022 Bronze Anthem Award winner and the winner of multiple gold, silver and bronze Telly Awards. Clients have included Genpact, Bracalente Manufacturing Group, The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Light of Life Rescue Mission and more.
