Director’s Take

A few months ago, on a hillside about an hour outside of the city, I stood with our crew while we rolled cameras on the most beautiful and chilly sunrise. We ran around a few farms, filming glorious cows and workers. Generations of farmers doing what they love for a company that I love and one of this region’s namesakes. Turner’s Dairy.
We get to be in rooms (and farms and factories) with people who are intentional about the way they engage with community and family. People who wake up each day working hard to provide the best products and experiences for their customers and community. It’s not easy and it is not something they just say. For Turner’s Dairy – it is constant pursuit in action – and it’s joyful.
I love our crew:
Listening to Phil sing “one more cow” with Luke joining in on harmony. Nathaniel looking at me knowing I’m not stopping an interview even with a tractor roaring by the set. Nick moving at light speed to ensure we get our shot. Wonderfully talented, kind and intentional.
Our team of Producers and Production Assistants making sure we are on time and a well-oiled machine with the multiple locations and set changes – led by my Producing Partner, Flying Scooter Productions Executive Producer, Courtney Gumpf and Line Producers Meg Eyerman and Waya Moon Slater. Our OG Brooke Bauer jumping in and making life a little easier with Madeline Milchman, Will Brandeis, Braheem Wilson & Pooja Joshi. (Our sets are always classrooms). In post, Ashley Gallardo who always finds the magic.
Thank you to Steve Turner and the Turner’s Dairy family for bringing us along to help tell your incredible story. Adriana Mazzotta our leader and constant champion and Tessa Deemer making sure all the BTS is captured while jumping in as part of our team.
Thank you to the team at Eat’n Park Hospitality Group for your hospitality and joy. Brooks Broadhurst thank you for spending time with us. Turner’s Chocolate Milk and Smiley Cookies for everyone!
I am grateful to direct and for the moments alongside our crew and clients in the early morning light.
