For more than 70 years, Light of Life has been a safe place of hope and healing for men, women and children experiencing homelessness, poverty and addiction. As the agency of record for the Pittsburgh-based rescue mission, we’re proud to be a strategic partner with one of the most renowned and respected nonprofits in the city. Below are some of the events we produced.

Opening New Doors

In celebration of the mission’s new North Side location on Voeghtly Street, Flying Scooter directed and produced the documentary, Opening New Doors, which featured interviews from former clients, staff and local leaders who served and supported Light of Life.

YINZER 4.12®k

This summer, Light of Life hosted its largest Yinzer 4.12®k race in the event’s history. Held annually to attract people of all ages and raise funding for the mission, our team helped increased runner participation through email marketing, social media and media relations. Nearly 700 runners took part and the race raised $40,000 for the homeless, hungry and addicted.

GROUND BLESSING AT RIDGE PLACE

Light of Life is expanding its reach with its new facility called Ridge Place on the North Side. On September 20th, the mission held a ground blessing for the new building. We executed a strategic PR strategy with press releases, media outreach and social media to share with local outlets about the new facility which will include a new kitchen, dining room, hair salon, beds as well as additional space for the Light of Life’s programming for men, women and children.

TUNCH & WOLF’S 19TH ANNUAL WALK FOR THE HOMELESS

The 19th annual Tunch and Wolf Walk for the Homeless was by far the most memorable — and one we will never forget.

In honor of the former Pittsburgh Steelers Tunch Ilkin and Craig Wolfley’s 35 years of dedication and service to Light of Life, the city celebrated their commitment in a special way. On the day of the walk, Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald declared June 13, 2021 as Tunch and Wolf Day.

Proceeds from the walk went towards the “Thanks A Million” campaign which aims to raise $1 Million dollars to fund building renovations.

Little did we know, this year’s walk would be the last for our beloved hometown hero and champion, Tunch Ilkin.

In September, Tunch passed away after his brave fight with ALS, three months after he announced his retirement to focus on his fight. To honor his life and legacy, Flying Scooter produced this tribute:

Thank you Tunch. It’s been an honor to know and work with you over the past decade.
