On Saturday night in Philadelphia, the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awarded two Emmys to Flying Scooter Productions. The first went to “The Ocean – Five Years,” in Documentary. The second award went to Turner’s Dairy for “Turning Moments Into Memories for 95 Years” in the Lifestyle – Long-Form Content category.

Both films are about families. One family lost a brilliant soul — a son and brother — and answered with music, impact, hope, and love. The other has spent 95 years (and counting) answering for the milk (and tea, eggs, and more) on thousands of tables, and for the tireless family of farmers who make it possible. Neither family had to open its doors to us. Both did.

Jennifer Schlieper wrote and directed both films. Producing Partner, Courtney Gumpf, produced them with her. Neither film exists without the crew and partners named below.
This recognition belongs to our crew and the McCutcheon and the Turner Families.

Produced in partnership with The Vault Recording Studio and The Rhythm19 Fund.

Ryan McCutcheon was 19. He was a college student and a percussionist, and a very gifted one. In September 2017, he was killed in a car accident. His younger brother, Brett, used music to express his grief and, in time, find hope and joy again. Five years later, he released “The Ocean – Five Years,” written with his friend, vocalist June Bracken, and recorded with members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. The film follows the album track by track, and it follows the family and friends who chose to honor and remember Ryan through music education, community and hope.

Turner’s Dairy: “Turning Moments Into Memories for 95 Years”

Watch Now: YouTube

Produced in partnership with the Turner Dairy family, Steve Turner, Adriana Mazzotta & Tessa Deemer

Turner’s Dairy Farms began with three cows and a vision. Ninety-five years later, the family behind it carries a responsibility most people never think about: nourishing thousands of people, and standing by the farmers and families who supply its dairy. It’s the responsibility, the early mornings, the care for animals and land, the trust between a family company and the farmers it depends on. It is a film about dedication, love and values and the people who exude them.
